Request TCNs

On behalf of University Payroll and Benefits, i-card Programs provides a Request TCN application for university hiring contacts.

Accessing the Request TCN Application

  1. Email i‑card Programs’ Help Desk from your university email account. Include your University Identification Number (UIN) and your email signature block. Request access to the Request TCN application. When you've received confirmation your access is prepared, continue with the next step.
  2. Log in to i‑card Programs Applications using your NetID and password: https://icardapps.uillinois.edu/login.

  3. Select Request TCN from your My Applications page. If you only have access to Request TCN, its main screen will display immediately.

Requesting a TCN

Circle-icons-caution HR representatives MUST have either a Receipt of Application for SSN (paid non-student employees) or a completed Statement of Certification of Application for SSN (student/FSI/unpaid employees and fellows) in hand before proceeding.   1. Click on the “Request new TCN” button: Request new TCN button
  2. A TCN available for use displays.
  3. Copy the TCN by clicking on the copy button: Copy button
  4. To generate another new TCN, click the “Reset” button: Reset button  and repeat steps 1 to 3.
  5. To exit the application, select LOG OUT from the left-hand menu or close the browser tab.
